Presenteeism… or absence may go unnoticed

It is either one extreme or the other! Whereas “absenteeism” means not being at work when one is supposed to, the term “presenteeism” describes employees who insist on going to work when they really should not. According to specialists, presenteeists do not simply lack motivation. They suffer from physical or mental issues that should keep them from being at work, but show up anyway, day after day, adversely affecting both themselves and the company.
